OwnAgain does NOT collect, store, transmit, or ask for your Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identity Number (NIN), Voter's Card, or International Passport. Marketplace trust is established through verified phone numbers, authenticated email confirmation, physical hands-on inspection, and NUBAN bank account matching via Paystack when sellers withdraw funds.
1. Categories of Data We Collect
To provide a safe peer-to-peer marketplace, OwnAgain processes only necessary functional data:
• Account Details: Name, email address, authenticated Nigerian phone number, and password hashes.
• Listing Information: Asset title, condition checklist, descriptions, uploaded product images, and 7s/12s condition proof videos.
• Transaction Details: Canonical references (e.g. OA-TXN-20260919-...), item price, Protection & Service Fee breakdown, and Handshake timestamps.
• Payment Information: Payment references, Paystack transaction identifiers, and NUBAN bank account numbers/bank codes (for seller payout disbursements).
• Meetup Verification Selfies: Front-facing user photos captured solely to assist physical recognition at public hubs.
2. Front-Facing Meetup Selfie Privacy
When you take a front-facing selfie for meetup verification, it is stored securely and displayed exclusively to your counterparty during an active scheduled meetup. Meetup selfies are NEVER indexed by search engines, NEVER used in advertising or public marketing, and NEVER sold to third parties.
3. Coarse Nigerian Geography & Location Privacy
To protect your residential security, OwnAgain strictly prohibits and never collects or displays private home street addresses or house numbers for marketplace listings. All listings display coarse geographic hubs only (e.g., Ikeja, Lagos; Wuse 2, Abuja; Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt). Proximity is represented by badges (e.g. Near You, Within LGA, In-State).
4. Payment Gateway Separation (Paystack & Monnify)
OwnAgain acts strictly as the marketplace technology and orchestration layer. Card numbers, CVVs, and banking credentials are never processed, stored, or visible on OwnAgain servers. All card payments and bank transfers are processed directly on PCI-DSS certified payment rails (Paystack / Monnify) operated by our parent entity, FalconerOne Technologies.
5. In-App Order Chat & Automated Safety Filters
Order chat channels are transaction-bound and only activate after transaction funds are committed into the Transaction Box. The chat system employs automated safety filters to redact 11-digit phone numbers and block standalone 6-digit codes (ensuring the Handshake OTP cannot be intercepted online before physical inspection).
6. Data Retention & Audit Logs
Transaction records, evidence hashes, and financial ledger journals are retained permanently to ensure immutable double-entry auditing, regulatory compliance, and tax reconciliation. Non-transactional temporary session data may be purged in accordance with data lifecycle policies.
